What changes on an EV
- Charging port closed and kept out of direct spray, always.
- Cameras and sensors cleaned by hand rather than blasted, because a smeared lens is a driver-assistance problem, not a cosmetic one.
- Wheels that collect tire and rail dust rather than brake dust, which needs an iron remover rather than more scrubbing.
- Light-colored synthetic upholstery, which stains differently from leather and needs different chemistry.
- Frunk and lower trunk seals, which collect debris that nobody thinks to look at.
What changes on a luxury interior
Open-pore wood, Alcantara, quilted leather, and piano-black trim all fail differently, and all fail permanently if the wrong product touches them. Alcantara mats down and shines if it is scrubbed with an all-purpose cleaner. Open-pore wood is a finish, not a plastic, and hates solvent. Piano black scratches if you look at it wrong.
The safe approach is boring: the mildest thing that works, on a microfiber rather than sprayed onto the surface, tested somewhere out of sight.

The honest note on coatings
We do not install multi-year ceramic coatings. On a garage-kept luxury car with good paint, a hand-applied sealant refreshed twice a year gets you most of the practical benefit for a fraction of the cost, and we will tell you when a coating genuinely is the better answer.
What we do install is a hydrophobic glass coating, which is the upgrade with the most obvious daily payoff in Texas storms.
Garage-kept cars still need decontamination
A common assumption on well-kept cars in Southlake garages is that low mileage and covered parking mean the paint needs nothing. Decontamination is the exception, because the contamination arrives regardless of how carefully a car is driven.
