The short answer
Light rain and cold do not stop most work. Interior detailing is unaffected by weather entirely. What does stop work is sustained heavy rain, freezing temperatures, and high wind, because sealants, coatings, and dressings need a temperature and moisture window to bond correctly.
If we need to move an appointment, we move it and tell you why. What we will not do is apply protection in conditions where it will fail in three weeks and blame the product.

Weather thresholds
Why cold matters more than people think
Protection products are chemistry with a working range. A sealant applied to a panel below its minimum temperature does not cure properly, which means it looks fine on the day and stops beading water within weeks. Coatings are stricter still.
Cold also changes the water. Rinsing a very cold car and then leaving it to sit means water sitting in seams and door shuts that will not evaporate, which is how a winter wash turns into frozen doors overnight.
Why a hot Texas afternoon is its own weather problem
Summer is the more common disruption here. On a 100F day a hood surface can exceed 150F, and anything applied to it flashes off before it can be spread or leveled. Water dries on the panel and leaves the minerals behind.
That is why summer appointments start early or run late, or run under a canopy. It is not comfort. It is the only way to get an even finish.

The one thing worth doing yourself in bad weather
After an ice event, rinse the underbody once the roads are clear. That single step handles the part of winter that actually damages a car in North Texas, and it does not need good weather to matter.
Beyond that, a car that gets rained on is not a car that needs washing. Rain is soft water. What it leaves behind is whatever was already on the paint, plus whatever ran off the roof of your house.
What we do when the forecast is uncertain
North Texas forecasts change quickly, and an appointment booked four days out is often made in weather nobody predicted.
- We watch the forecast for booked appointments and reach out rather than waiting for you to ask.
- Interior-only services usually proceed regardless, since weather does not affect them.
- A borderline day is often handled by starting earlier or working under the canopy.
- If a service has to be split, the exterior half is rescheduled and the interior half goes ahead.
- Rescheduling for weather carries no cost and no penalty, because it is not your decision or your fault.
