The timing question
Book after the oak wave, not during it. Applying protection while trees are still dropping means the first week undoes some of the visual benefit, though the protection itself is unaffected.
In practice, the second half of April is the sweet spot in North Texas: pollen is easing, hail season is still a factor but the heat has not arrived, and a sealant applied then covers the whole summer.
The five-minute spring inspection
Before booking anything, spend five minutes finding out what the car actually needs. Do it in daylight with the car dry.
